Post Traumatic Stress Disorder

Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) is the consequence of trauma and is accompanied by feelings of intense fear, shock and helplessness.

An individual suffering from PTSD keeps on replaying the incident in their minds as if it were a recent occurrence. Every time they do adrenalin floods through the body, causing insomnia, anxiousness, pain and terror, causing them to behave as if they are under constant threat. In our clinic we use an integrated approach, using cognitive hypnotherapy which provides better coping responses and techniques for relaxation. Some other techniques used include projection and restructuring techniques to represent different aspects of the trauma that was experienced.*
